You’r Brain is a hard drive……..Mind Mapping
I always knew that ones brain works and functions almost like a hard drive. We store and delete data as we go and even create completely new data from scratch (Imagination/Creativity). Essentially we have a little person in our mind that is an exact copy of us running around constantly looking for things putting new things in its place and stumbling across new topics while running through our mind. I know this seems crazy but think about it. Many people chose to keep a diary or a journal. A diary is a hard copy of some of the millions of things that are in our minds, the things we feel, the things we want and the things we hope for. One way we as a world can learn is to understand what goes on in other peoples mind. It can help inspire others.
I will be drastically changing Alexsmind.com to reflect my ”Hard Drive” or simply my mind. I see so many interesting things on a daily basis and one day maybe in 20 or 30 years hopefully I will have collected enough Material for not just me to reflect back onto in the future but also for others to see, read and hear. Alexsmind.com will sort of become a hard copy of my brain. Instead of being stores in my mind I will attempt to store as much of the information (and junk) from my brain on Alexsmind.com turning it into a mind map that is easy to navigate for me and others.
Why am I doing this ?
I am doing this for the sole purpose of having my memories saved in an easy to read format instead of having to find it in my mind. Have you not always wondered what it looks like in somebody elses mind. I was raised with 2 cultures, My German grandmother who at a time in her life experienced something that most of us cant fathom, World War 2. I never knew much of what happen when my grandmother was a child, her experiences (not all good, and some very terrible) will be lost with her. I would have loved to hear about the at times emotional stories that she had during her upbringing. My Grandfather and african american raised and born in Virginia also during a time of great emotions. Where one wasnt allowed to share the same bathroom with another. Where he had to sit in special designated areas just to watch a film at a movie theater.
All of this is sad but still It would be interesting to hear and see all of the stories my grandparents have. And this is why I am doing this. If I ever have children (Don’t know when that will happen as of yet) I would want them to be able to see how my life was. What technology there was, the political situation, the standards of living and much more. People would be allot more content with the world if they only knew how much everybody else struggles and I mean everybody (Including Presidents and celebrities). So we will see how this will unfold over the next few weeks. I mean putting ones mind on the internet has to take a while……
I was just thinking of this yesterday. I came across your post.
I think the brain is very much like a hard drive. It functions properly when its decluttered and clear of junk.
Feelings, emotions, negative emotions, past experiences become “unwanted data”. By retrieving these past unecessary files on a daily basis makes it impossible for some to move forward.
Cool blog.
Thank you, I agree. Some emotions freeze us in place and prevent us from moving onto newer and possibly better memories/emotions.
